Seat three cubes, pull the rope, and stop sprinting with a cube in your hands.

Cube Puzzle and Wirecutters

Wirecutters are the EXIT door’s first conversation. You do not find them in a cabinet and you do not pick them off The Locust. You earn them by seating three colored cubes on matching pads until a ceiling rope drops. This is the most “game-y” step in The Locusts Manor, which is why it is also the step that eats time while the hunter closes. Pair this page with the escape walkthrough so you remember the Wirecutters are step one of four, not a side quest.

The nest is pre-alpha. Cube spawn points wander after patches, including the Boiled One map pass. If a YouTube seed disagrees with your lobby, keep the jobs (find cube, carry one, seat it, repeat) and throw away the left-right-left memory.

The pads are your compass

Before you pick anything up, find the red, yellow, and blue pads. Every useful callout in a squad starts from those pads, not from “that hallway with the wallpaper.” If you cannot see the pads, you are lost, not unlucky.

A seed that still appears often, described while facing the pads:

  • Turn around, take the right path, run until a low wall slot appears, slide through, Yellow Cube on your left.
  • Face the pads, turn right, climb the white wooden wall, immediate left, then the right pathway for the Red Cube.
  • Continue from the Red Cube to the end of that path for the Blue Cube.

If those sentences do not match the room in front of you, scout: cubes contrast against the rugs, and they sit on the floor, not on shelves. The Key is the cabinet item. Cubes are never inside cabinets.

Carry rules that prevent a five-minute jam

One cube at a time. Two cubes is how you drop both into a stairwell. Reset the route between carries so you always approach a pad from a clear angle. Sprint is for empty hands. Walking is for a cube. If you must cross a hunted hallway, set the cube down in a corner, slide-bait The Locust away, then pick it up again. Carrying through a chase is how geometry swallows the prop.

Stuck cubes respond to a jiggle: tiny left-right strafes, a drop, a pickup, a reseat. Jumping on the cube to use it as a stair is a real shortcut over one-cube-high walls and a real way to lodge it under a lip. If you use the stair trick, do it on a cube you can afford to babysit, not on the last cube while the rope is waiting.

The rope drop

When the third cube seats, a rope falls from a ceiling hatch near the pads. Interact. That is the Wirecutters. There is no extra search. If the rope does not drop, a cube is visually “on” a pad but not registered — pick it up and reseat. If two cubes share a color in your seed, you are on a broken lobby; rejoin. Pre-alpha does that.

Someone should watch the hatch while others finish the last carry. The hunter loves the pad room because players cluster there. The watcher is also the bait. See co-op roles if your stack keeps wiping on the third cube.

How The Locust interacts with this puzzle

The Locust does not solve cubes. It just walks into the people who do. Audio still matters: if breathing starts during a carry, set the cube down and slide. A dropped cube is recoverable. A dead carrier in a narrow pad room often wedges the cube under a ragdoll and wastes the next minute.

Do not try to seat a cube while grabbing the Keycard. Those are different jobs on different hitboxes. Finish Wirecutters, then hunt the card, unless a teammate is already pinning the hunter on the other side of the nest.

After you have Wirecutters

Go to cabinets for the Key or go steal the Keycard, depending on what your squad already holds. EXIT will literally say WireCutter Needed on the panel; if that prompt is missing, you are at the wrong door or on a Lights Out variant. Do not drop the tool to pick up a cube “just in case.” You already spent the puzzle.

If you are practicing, Free Roam will not teach this step. You need a real round. Learn movement first on How to Play, then come back here with a pad landmark in your head.

Keep the item tier list nearby if you are arguing in voice about what to chase first. Wirecutters are the only item with a deterministic puzzle. That makes them the correct first objective on almost every seed.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for The Locusts Manor on Roblox.

How do I get Wirecutters?

Seat the red, yellow, and blue cubes on matching pads. A rope drops from the ceiling. Interact. There is no cabinet spawn for this tool.

A cube is stuck. Now what?

Jiggle with small strafes, drop it, pick it up, reseat. Stop sprinting with it. If it is under a body, wait for the ragdoll to despawn.

Can I carry two cubes?

Do not. One at a time is the rule that keeps pads moving. Split carries with the co-op roles.

The YouTube locations are wrong.

Pre-alpha spawns move. Use pad-relative scouting, not a memorized clip. The escape walkthrough still needs this item.
