How to Play The Locusts Manor

House of The Locust, the Roblox experience this wiki calls The Locusts Manor, is a pre-alpha survival-escape lobby, not a simulator with daily codes and gacha banners. You load into a nest of wallpaper, chandeliers, wooden cabinets, and one-cube-high walls. The Locust is already hunting. Your job is not to “win a fight.” Your job is to leave with three items on the EXIT door: Wirecutters, Key, and Keycard. This page is the first hour. The escape walkthrough is the badge run that comes after.

Confirm you joined the right listing: House of The Locust by NULLWORKS STUDIOS, place 86247128610772. MM2 of The Locust and The Locust - Survival use the same analog-horror face and a different ruleset. If the lobby has guns, roles, or a codes button in the corner, you are in the wrong nest.

What the first minute should look like

Do not sprint down the longest hallway you can see. Stand still, turn your volume up, and listen. The mix is built so footsteps and breathing arrive before the model does. If you hear the hunt and you cannot see The Locust, you are already late — slide around a corner and break line of sight instead of running a straight line it will simply outpace.

Next, find a landmark you can describe in one sentence: the cube pads, a chandelier cluster, a wallpaper color change, the EXIT glow. The nest is a maze on purpose. Landmarks stop you from searching the same cabinet wing twice. If you are in a full server, watch where other players die; that corridor is now a known patrol, not a mystery.

Free Roam is the mode you should click before a serious escape if movement still feels sticky. There are no cubes to seat and no Key to roll, but The Locust still walks the halls. Use it to practice the slide (sprint, then crouch), the jump onto one-cube-high walls, and the habit of never turning your back in a long corridor. The controls tool lists PC and mobile bindings so you are not guessing in the pause menu.

The three items, explained without spoilers for later pages

Wirecutters drop only after the colored cubes sit on their pads. You carry one cube at a time. Sprinting with a cube is how you drop it into geometry and spend the next minute jiggling. Full routes live on the cube puzzle page.

The Key is a cabinet roll. There is no glow, no unique sound, and no Trello card with tonight’s spawn. You Search, you Cancel if empty, you move. Squads should split wings. Solo players should run a loop that always has an escape corner. Details sit in the escape walkthrough.

The Keycard is on The Locust. Touching the hunter is an instant kill, including through some walls if you linger on the prompt. The safe versions of that steal — geometry pin, gap grab, death pickup — are the entire Keycard guide. Do not invent a fourth method on your first night.

Movement rules that keep you alive

Outrunning The Locust in a straight hallway is a losing plan. The kit exists so you can break the chase, not win a footrace:

  • Sprint is for crossing open rugs, not for living inside it.
  • Slide (crouch while sprinting) is the trick that sends the hunter into a wall loop so you can Search in peace.
  • Jump clears the short wooden walls that look like dead ends from a distance.
  • Crouch without a sprint is for quiet corners and for not clipping a prompt while the hunter is close.

Audio on is not a flavor suggestion. The game uses sound as a warning system. Headphones beat laptop speakers. If you play muted because a sibling is asleep, you will lose more runs to a silent approach than to a bad cube route.

How a squad should talk

A 50-player server is chaos. A three- or four-player stack with voice is the mode the nest was clearly built around. Call the hunter’s last seen landmark, not “it’s here.” Call empty cabinet wings so nobody repeats them. Call when a cube is seated so the rope watcher can grab Wirecutters immediately. If one player is comfortable being bait, the co-op tier list ranks that job as S-tier support, not as a joke.

Death is cheap. You respawn and the items stay in the world. That is why a Keycard grab after a teammate dies is a valid tactic, and why panicking after one down is wasted time. Reset your route, do not reset the whole plan.

What not to waste the first hour on

Do not hunt codes. There are none on the current build, and lists titled “Locust codes” are usually for other games. Do not install a script before you understand the four jobs; you will not know what the GUI is even automating. Do not wait for a Trello — there isn’t one. Do not confuse the Boiled One banner with a requirement for your first Escaped badge; the original nest still teaches the same item chain. When you want patch context, open updates after you have survived one full loop.

The video in the middle of this page is a real first-look run, not a speedrun. Watch how the players stop talking the moment audio cues spike, then come back to the escape walkthrough with a route in mind.

Treat the nest as pre-alpha. Spawns move. Intelligence passes change how greedy you can be on a wall grab. The constants are the three items, the EXIT door, and the fact that The Locust is faster than your panic sprint. Learn those constants here, then specialize on the child guides.
