How to Get the Keycard in The Locusts Manor

The Locust wears it. You only borrow it if you do not touch the hunter.

How to Get the Keycard

The Keycard is the item that turns a House of The Locust run into a horror story instead of a furniture-searching sim. Cabinets do not hide it. Cubes do not spawn it. The Locust wears it, which means every grab is a standoff with an instant-kill hitbox. This page is only that standoff. Put it in a tab next to the escape walkthrough so you do not lose the rest of the chain while you panic.

If you have not learned slide-from-sprint yet, stop and open the controls tool. The Keycard grab is a movement puzzle pretending to be a loot prompt.

Why the Keycard is designed this way

NULLWORKS put the reader on the EXIT door and the card on the only thing in the nest that can end you in one touch. That forces a moment where you must look at The Locust instead of running from it. Analog-horror fans already know the face from DoctorNowhere; the Roblox version just gives it a patrol and a pickup. Respect the hitbox. Do not roleplay a sneak attack you saw in a different game.

Audio tells you the facing. Footsteps mean it is moving. Breathing means it is close enough that a prompt is a dare. If you hear both and you cannot see the model, you are on the wrong side of a wall and should slide, not Search.

Method A — Geometry pin (the consistent steal)

The Locust pathfinds hard and thinks in straight lines more than it should. If you sprint past a doorway and slide, it often commits into the doorframe or a thin wall and keeps running in place. That loop is your window.

Stand on the safe side of the mesh. Wait until the looping animation is obvious — not one frame of contact, a real stuck cycle. Reach through the gap and take the Keycard. Leave immediately. The hitbox still kills through some walls if you idle on the prompt like it is a shop menu.

If the pin breaks, do not re-approach from the same angle. Re-bait with another slide so it commits again. Greedy second tries are how clips titled “he had enough” get recorded.

Method B — Rear grab

When The Locust faces away and you have a teammate calling distance, you can walk up, grab, and slide out. This is faster than a pin and much less safe. Use it in open chandelier rooms where a wall pin is impossible, or when the hunter is staring at a downed teammate.

Rules: no sprint into the back, no jump onto the model, no “just tap it.” Walk, prompt, slide. If the head turns, abort. A failed rear grab is an instant reset of your body, not of the Keycard — the card stays on the hunter for the next attempt.

Method C — Death pickup

You respawn. The Keycard does not vanish because you died. If a teammate (or you, last life) went down on the hunter, the card can be taken from the last position or the model while it idles on the kill. This is the squad method: one player is bait on purpose, one player is the thief. The co-op role list ranks dedicated bait as S-tier because this pickup exists.

Do not stack four people on the corpse. One thief, one watcher calling audio, everyone else back on cabinets or cubes.

Things that are not methods

  • Shooting, because you do not have a gun in this experience.
  • Hiding in a cabinet with the hunter, because cabinets are for Keys, not for tanking.
  • Hoping a code spawns a Keycard. There are no codes, and a code would not replace this standoff anyway.
  • Noclip scripts that teleport the card to you. They exist; they also exist to get accounts banned. This page assumes you are stealing it in the rules.

After the card is in your inventory

Do not go looking for a fourth item. Go to EXIT with Wirecutters and Key already in hand, or go finish the step you skipped. The reader is not a suggestion. If the door still says Keycard Needed, you dropped it, you grabbed a different prop, or you are on a Lights Out variant from the Boiled One update. Re-check inventory before you re-fight the hunter.

The Locust does not become friendly because you have the card. It will still run you down on the way to the door. Slide the last hallway. Do not celebrate in the glow until the Escaped badge ticks.

For hunter behavior that is not about the card — patrol tells, sound, Free Roam practice — read the entity page. For the rest of the nest, go back to How to Play.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for The Locusts Manor on Roblox.

Where does the Keycard spawn?

On The Locust. It is not in a cabinet and not on the cube pads. Steal it with a pin, a rear grab, or a death pickup.

Can The Locust kill me through a wall?

Yes, if you linger on the prompt. Pin it deeper, grab, and leave. Details are in the geometry pin section above.

Do I need the Keycard if I already have the Key?

Yes. EXIT still asks for Wirecutters, Key, and Keycard. See the escape walkthrough.

Is baiting a teammate into a death allowed?

It is a valid squad tactic. Call it first. The co-op tiers exist so bait is a job, not a surprise.
